This M. study was a 2-fir (two for the price of one study wise) The study of halation around the orange peel & color contrasts. Up close I have purple on the orange half yet it reads as white pulp from a distance. Very interesting!

This work evokes the imagination in a not so simple still life. Early morning light casts its shadow upon the wall leaving a glow around the hats edge. The evening lies in wait with the jewelry box and the day is yet to come to send the letter. Each moment remains a start as the title states Dawns Early light.
Size ( small) 9 H x 6 W
This was a still life for opposites hard teapot and soft flower and before the flower wilted after being picked. It was a big bloom!
Size 11 H x 14 W
Painting upright in watercolor gives a whole different textured quality to the work as you can see in the drips. it just relaxes and was fun to paint.
Master studies with a twist- I study their methods but use my own ideas or subjects for the painting.
Size 9 H x 6 W
A friend expressed a heartfelt loss that overwhelmed her. I told her what helped me through a time of loss. I wrote out my pain, read it, cried, and wadded it up and threw it away! Releasing it and savored the memories. This is a reminder to keep the memories and release the pain.-Let it go!
Size 12 H x 9 W
Study in color and light as it bounces everywhere in this still life.
Size 16 H x 12 W
My model was my niece who posed wonderfully. I wanted to figure out how Master Artist Anna Razumovskaya paints her flowing gowns with a palette knife. Of course I got carried away with it but it was fun and a great lesson. ( I finally got to see a video of her painting a dress much fewer strokes!) Love her work!

and a life changing lesson in drawing & painting from the master
I studied under Melissa Weinman for 5 yrs. One drawing lesson was to draw the eyes of this little girl that was sketched by Rembrandt
Mine is the bottom one in the next picture. But while drawing this something happened... an overwhelming and powerful discovery was
made as I drew her eyes. I could literally feel how frightened this little girl was while being drawn, I could feel the welling up of water to her eyes and how scared she was. I had to stop my own drawing of her!
Art is a powerful thing, isn't it?
We were to paint a color copy of Rembrandt's self portrait from 1660 in the Grisaille method. Well as I got painting, I got caught up in the painting as it spoke to me. My Instructor came around and said, you have to stop! You have the perfect picture of Sean Connery (as Rembrandt). The class artists insisted I stop there too. There you have it! Size 24 H x 18 W
Allow yourself to be in the moment.
Size 16 H x 21 W
This still life set up only had two objects to it. Can you guess which were the real objects and which were imagined? Several hours were spent creating form and values for a compelling composition for the viewer.
Size 16 H x 20 W
Note: A look alike Master study must be noted on the front of the painting saying the words After then artists name and your name under it. Done! This is from his piece called "Le Jardin" So this is similar but again I got carried away having fun with the palette knife and putting my own flare to it. Another great lesson and a pleasure to do!
Size 16 H x 20 W
Study in Dusk -As night falls the darkness sets in on the tree lined waterway and the night sky brings memories of a favorite evening in the NW.
Art is like sunken treasure, You love the hunt but really love what You found!
is a gift to your painting strengths, your brain and nurtures your art soul.
Size 12 H x 16 W
The trick was to do a master study using a photo of his work. I rarely paint from a photo. I used both a palette knife and brush work for this piece and it turned out to be one of my favorites.
Size 15 H x 11 W
This is a wc study in using themed elements of Picasso's' work in my own design. I chose eyes and flowers for this piece.
Size 15 H x 11 W
Another wc study of Picasso theme elements using lips and leaves. You don't realize the planing that goes into something that looks so simple til you do it..
As things shut down for artists in 2020 Master Artist Dreama Tolle Perry started Flow Group for artists to stay painting and inspire one another all while teaching her unusual style in oils and WC journaling from her travel references.
I believe everyone should engage in sharing and learning from one another, build and strengthen each other. When there is a win or celebration we are excited as well to lift each other up. Dreama is so giving she even granted us to sell the works she taught. It was also fun to see how different each artist paints and the little differences they have done on their own works. So I'll be listing my wares here.
With watercolor I have always painted loose big and bold. I took formal art training in solvent free Oils and noticed with Oils I painted tight. Using a palette knife was a bit looser but not the freedom I loved with wc. So trying Dreamas method in oils seemed to be a step towards those goals.
As I didn't have WiFi in my studio I had to paint in my living room for the online class. Here is my set up and first stage of the unfinished art piece. The pic on screen, as I follow along.
In August I started 3 large Acrylic paintings to stage a remodeled home going up for sale in October. Luckily I got to paint the largest one pictured outside.
More treasures to be found below
In painting with acrylics I have a much looser vibe. It took longer to paint these then the home sale as the home sold in 3 days.
It did help to paint more than one so I did 2 6x6 (sold) & 1, 9x12 of the same floral setting then 1 6x6 of my own design of 3 pears for an upcoming online show.

Sunflowers in a bouquet bring a big smile to your day especially when they are for You!
I had just won a major art award and then my back went out on me I couldn't walk for 6 mo. During this time my Hubby was busy in our garage making a surprise studio for me! This is the left side of my 16 x 14 studio.
This space has had a lot of use even though my thoughtful hubby put a new light colored rug in it for me to be able to stand for a long time as I paint! So far so good and of course many paintings that need their own loving space.
Have you found something that speaks to You? Art has it's own calling
