Artist Information

Kim Shuckhart Gunns is a multi award winning artist painting for 25 Years, and having shown in over a 100 juried art shows in USA and at the Yangzhou Art Museum in China. A member of PAL, SHA, AWA, COCA and past member of NWWS, RAL, & Pacific Gallery Artists residing in Tacoma, WA.

She was selected to do the Landfill.Org Hubcap Project, sending a (5ft x4ft)  mixed media art piece to PA. Her project was featured in a 6 mo. exhibition at The Museum of Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Va.  It now resides in a permanent collection in Pennsylvania and  in 2019 this piece was again selected for a 5 yr. exhibition - “What Color is your Dream?” in 8 to 10 museums across the USA.

In her colorful contemporary work, Kim compels the viewer to interact by stimulating thought and interpretation using an impressionist and expressive abstract style. Her world of art resonates on bold color, direct strokes and creative imagination making one of a kind artwork in various mediums.

She is known as a giving artist having helped raise funds for many clubs and non-profits through her art and devoted time. She also taught WC and her work has been purchased by area corporations and private collectors.

What does she say about her art work? “The joy is in the creation, giving a visual experience for the eyes to absorb, the mind to ponder, the soul to linger and your thoughts to escape- forever–making a shared connection –with you!” “My favorite is to begin the artwork boldly and to challenge myself to create the vision I dream of. Design and composition are important as I make my decisions. After studying the finished work from a distance I make my final changes, if it passes my liking  only then will I sign it and enter shows. They remain in my private collection until I’m ready to release them for sale.  The best is hearing from the buyers that they love it and it went to a loving artful home.”

The past years have been busy for her having sold 15 pieces in 45 minutes at the Vision 20/20 show in Burien. There was a (Top 5 Artists) Invitational All Star Show and sales at the 2019 BAM Show. 4 awards in 2 months even.  Anderson Island, Oldfield Show and the Premier Gallery Show along with her art being featured for their calendar. She sent 6 ROCO 6x6 works to Rochester, NY out of 7500 pieces in this show all 6 sold raising funds for the arts.  Lakewood Artfest selected “The Southside” as a winner along with a nice cash prize. Several shows and sales in Gig Harbor, Wa. along with a  Group Show at the White Dove Gallery. Then A 3 mo. Solo show at the White Dove Gallery. The MSV Museum Show in VA. (Second Time Around –The Hubcaps as Art) with 450 in attendance the next weekend 2400 people came through.  287 of the 1041 hubcaps were featured in this show of world artists. She was proud to be a part of it. Another invite to do a 3 mo. Solo Show (Abstracts) for the City of Puyallup. There are five other annual fine art shows she does: PAL, SHA, Renton, Emerald Downs, and WSF. In 2020 Islander Arts contacted her for a feature page for their Fine Art Magazine.

This past year2020 & 2021 took a turn for everyone but hit most artists hard as our galleries closed, classes were cancelled, restaurants closed and other places where our art hung and sold were now closed and  my  unsold work all came home  to my working studio.  So with all my art back in the studio it was time to revamp or pivot like everyone else it was sink or swim time! I chose to get online a new venture as at 65 years old I hadn’t been on social media before. Always learning though I studied how to make my own website to sell my work to the great art collectors out there. I wanted to see them go to art loving homes and I am thankful for your support of my many creations.

Art is more than self care for the soul it’s a gift from the heart for you to treasure. Each work has its own connection and value. I put forth my best and studied under top master artists for you to be a part in this artist life's journey.

I Welcome you to my website and hope you find the perfect something for you or someone in your life and please share my website with other art lovers. Everyone deserves a dream, a place to escape and be allowed to feel the joy in viewing and making that personnel connection. Allow the art to speak to you! The  Art Soul or Life Connection to an Artist is now direct from Me to You!
